Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. was founded in 1940 and serves customers in technology, energy, healthcare and industrial markets worldwide with a unique portfolio of products, services and solutions, providing atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, performance materials and chemical intermediates.
Air Products entered the UK market in the early 1950’s by establishing an agreement with the Butterley Company of England, located in Acrefair, for a license to build oxygen & nitrogen generators. We later acquired the company and today the site of the former Butterley Company is now home to Air Products manufacturing facility.
